A rare opportunity to have an overview of the work of Robert MacPherson, one of the most widely respected and influential artists working in Australian today. MacPherson works with Australian subject matter and materials that are intensely local: the history of the drovers and stockmen who lived their life on the land, disappearing Australian colloquialisms and culture. At the same time his work participates in an international dialogue which surrounds the representation of memory, the preservation of vernacular culture and the poetics of naming.
