'Year 12 Perspectives' celebrates and promotes student endeavour by showcasing the achievements of final year students from Western Australian secondary schools. The annual exhibition is characterised by a diversity of media and stylistic approaches. On display is an engaging mix of painting, photography, sculpture, graphics, computer-generated imagery and garment design. 'Year 12 Perspectives' also embraces diverse themes and offers a unique insight into the concerns of contemporary youth. Supported by an extensive education program, the exhibition is a key point of reference for Year 12 art development in the State.
The Art Gallery of Western Australia is delighted to announce that, with the generous sponsorship of Mr Haruhisa Handa and the International Foundation for Arts and Culture, the scope and vision of 'Year 12 Perspectives' will be significantly expanded in the year 2000. The exhibition will be more accessible, with a regional tour that will encompass Karratha, Bunbury, Albany, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie. Selected works will travel to Japan in July.
