Modern Australian Women: Paintings and Prints 1925-1945

This important exhibition that adds to the telling of the history of Australian art will focus on outstanding work by Australia's great women artists of the modernist period. These images reflect the challenging thinking of the time, often exploring colour, form and themes in ways previously not attempted in Australian art. The nucleus of this collection of innovative paintings, watercolours and prints come from the Art Gallery of South Australia, supported by major works borrowed from collections around Australia.
