Land People Place

20 May - 12 November
BHP Community Trust Gallery

Landscape is an integral part of human experience. It gives us our place in the world, we interact with it on many levels and we shape it to suit our own purposes.

When artists represent the landscape, they select, emphasise and abstract elements that have resonance with their own lived experience. In this process, landscape art may become influenced with social and cultural belongings.

This display examines issues of landscape representation through a range of work, presenting a dialogue between different voices and differing world views.
