Blessed be the Work: Australian Contemporary Design in Jewish Ceremony 11

Organised by the Jewish Museum of Australia, this exhibition will display Jewish ritual pieces created by contemporary craftspeople with some examples of historical ritual objects.. These ritual objects reflect the beliefs, origins, histories and memories of the Jewish community. Through their works the exhibiting artists convey their understanding of Judaism as practitioners of the religion and culture or through observation and study. Many traditional artefacts are interpreted in new and innovative ways. Many of the art works relate to place and include Australian iconography and imagery on traditional forms.
